Customs Rate

Overview

Customs Rate is a pricing document in the Pricing Center module that defines customs duty rates for different commodities, countries, and scenarios. It is used for calculating customs charges in Sales Quotes.

Key Fields

Basic Information

  • Item Code: Item code for the rate (required)
  • Description: Rate description
  • Is Active: Whether rate is active
  • Valid From: Rate validity start date (required)
  • Valid To: Rate validity end date

  • Cargo Value: Cargo value
  • Weight (kg): Cargo weight
  • Volume (m³): Cargo volume
  • Packages: Number of packages
  • Commodity Description: Commodity description

Item Integration

  • Item: Link to Item master
  • Item Name: Item name (read-only)
  • Item Description: Item description (read-only)
  • Item Group: Item group (read-only)

Workflow

  1. Create Customs Rate

    • Create new Customs Rate
    • Enter Item Code
    • Enter Description
  2. Set Validity Period

    • Set Valid From date
    • Set Valid To date if applicable
    • Set Is Active status
  3. Configure Rate

    • Select Calculation Method
    • Enter Rate Value
    • Select Currency
    • Set Minimum/Maximum charges
  4. Add Customs Details

    • Select Origin and Destination Countries
    • Enter HS Code
    • Enter Duty Rate
  5. Add Cargo Details

    • Enter cargo value, weight, volume
    • Enter number of packages
    • Enter commodity description
  6. Link to Item

    • Link to Item master if applicable
    • Item details are auto-filled
  7. Save Rate

    • Review all details
    • Save rate

Calculation Methods

The rate supports various calculation methods:

  • Fixed Amount: Fixed charge amount
  • Percentage of Value: Percentage of cargo value
  • Per Weight: Charge per kilogram
  • Per Volume: Charge per cubic meter
  • Per Package: Charge per package
  • Flat Rate: Flat rate regardless of value
