Customs Setup
Prerequisites
Before setting up the Customs module, ensure the following are configured:
- Company: Company master data
- Country: Country master data
- Currency: Currency master data
- Item: Item master data (for Customs Rate)
- Customer: Customer master data
- Supplier: Supplier master data
Initial Setup Steps
1. Create Master Data
Set up the following master data:
- Commodity: Commodity codes and classifications
- Customs Authority: Customs authorities
- Customs Container Code: Container codes (if applicable)
- Other Commodity Code: Additional commodity codes

2. Configure Customs Rates
Set up customs duty rates in Pricing Center:
- Customs Rate: Create rates for different commodities
- HS Codes: Configure Harmonized System codes
- Duty Rates: Set duty rates by country and commodity
- Calculation Methods: Configure rate calculation methods

3. Configure Permissions
Set up role-based permissions:
- Declaration: Create, submit, and manage declarations
- Commodity: Create and manage commodities
- Customs Authority: Create and manage authorities
- Customs Rate: Configure rates
Integration Setup
Pricing Center Integration
- Ensure Pricing Center module is configured
- Customs Rates are managed in Pricing Center
- Rates can be used in Sales Quotes
Sea Freight Integration
- Customs declarations can be linked to sea shipments
- HS codes are used in sea freight operations
- Commodity codes are shared
Air Freight Integration
- Customs declarations can be linked to air shipments
- IATA commodity codes are used
- Dangerous goods declarations integration
Sustainability Integration
- Customs declarations track paper usage
- Carbon footprint is calculated for processing
- Sustainability metrics are recorded
Post-Setup Checklist
- [ ] Commodities created
