Transport Setup
Prerequisites
Before setting up the Transport module, ensure the following are configured:
- Company: Company master data
- Branch: Branch master data
- Cost Center: Cost center master data
- Profit Center: Profit center master data
- Customer: Customer master data
- Address: Address master data
- Employee: Employee master data (for Transport Planner)
Initial Setup Steps
1. Configure Transport Settings
Navigate to Transport Settings and configure:
- Routing Provider: Set up routing (OSRM, Mapbox, or Google)
- Telematics Provider: Configure vehicle tracking
- Carbon Settings: Set up carbon emission calculation
- Automation: Enable auto-billing and vehicle assignment
- Planning: Configure forward/backward days for planning

2. Create Master Data
Set up the following master data:
- Vehicle Types: Types of vehicles (Truck, Van, Trailer, etc.)
- Load Types: Types of cargo (Road, Rail, Bulk, etc.)
- Container Types: Types of containers (if applicable)
- Transport Vehicles: Actual vehicles in fleet
- Drivers: Driver master data
- Transport Companies: Transport company master data
- Pick and Drop Modes: Pickup and delivery modes

3. Create Transport Templates
Create reusable templates for common routes:
- Template Code: Unique code for template
- Description: Template description
- Legs: Define leg plan with facilities and modes

4. Configure Permissions
Set up role-based permissions:
- Transport Order: Create, submit, and manage orders
- Transport Job: Create, submit, and manage jobs
- Run Sheet: Create, dispatch, and manage run sheets
- Transport Settings: Configure module settings
Integration Setup
Sales Quote Integration
- Ensure Sales Quote module is configured
- Transport rates can be calculated in Sales Quote
- One-Off quotes can create Transport Orders
Accounting Integration
- Ensure Job Costing Number is configured
- Link Transport Jobs to Job Costing Numbers
- Configure Sales Invoice creation from legs
Telematics Integration
- Create Telematics Provider document
- Configure provider API settings
- Set as default in Transport Settings
Routing Integration
Choose one of the following:
- OSRM: Free, open source (default)
- Mapbox: Requires API key
- Google Maps: Requires API key
Configure API keys in Transport Settings.
Post-Setup Checklist
- [ ] Transport Settings configured
- [ ] Master data created (Vehicle Types, Load Types, etc.)
- [ ] Transport Vehicles added
- [ ] Drivers added
- [ ] Transport Companies added
- [ ] Transport Templates created
